Dacian Cocis Knee Fibulae
Typology: Cocis Type 1-19
Dates: c. AD 175-250
Distribution: Dacia, Limes but Barbarian manufacture. Commonly uncovered in Romania and Ukraine.
Notes: The head of this type end in a hole through which the spring 's hinge-pin passed. The bow of this fibulae bends by up to 90°, which is the origin of the name ‘knee-type’. The foot is usually very elongated whilst the bow of the fibulae is thin.
